The late Tony Benn was born 100 years ago tomorrow. I wish we had more politicians today with his principles and ability. I was very fortunate to have met him on a number of occasions, and he provided support to various campaigns with which I was involved. He was an incredibly generous man and had that rare ability to make everyone he met feel very special. Unlike most other politicians, he never looked over your shoulder to see if there was anyone more important or interesting for him to be speaking to.
