Over time, humans have drawn inspiration form animals. We marvel at what they can do and wonder how they do things. Frome birds flying to sharks swimming, animals have inspired engineers to mimic what they do. Engineers, architects, and technologists are turning to these evolutionary wonders , not with envy, but with reverence. From sharkskin-inspired swimsuits to owl-wing stealth aircraft, biomimicry—the art of imitating nature to solve human challenges—is no longer science fiction. It’s practical, powerful, and often more efficient than our original designs.
