A new life and recovery from addiction is possible

I’ve been thinking about two people following my article last week about anti-social behaviour in New Road. One Argus reader asked about my reference to the old tram shelter in Norfolk Square: “What historic tram shelter in Norfolk Square? If there ever was one, it hasn't been there for many, many years.” The tram shelter in Norfolk Square was built in the early 20th-century but sadly no longer exists. There were male and female toilets on either side. These have since been used for retail purposes including as a florist and a coffee take away. The tram shelter, which was between the two toilets, was demolished in the 1990s as part of measures to tackle anti-social behaviour. The anti-social behaviour was caused mainly by homeless street drinkers.
